September is National Preparedness Month
At the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) it's National Preparedness Month! Check out the great www.ready.gov website where the slogan is "Get a Kit, Make a Plan, Be Informed, and Get Involved." There are step-by-step guidelines for making your own emergency kit and preparedness plan, information on all sorts of emergencies from earthquakes to winter storms, links to local governments, a place for organizations to register with the National Preparedness Month Coalition, downloadable banners, and an absolutely terrific kids' site
www.ready.gov/kids/home.html with loads of fun information.
