National Kids Day

Laura Bush "I applaud Boys & Girls Clubs of American and KidsPeace for establishing a day that honors and strengthens the relationship between adults and children. This is a day to reinforce that children matter-that their ideas and dreams are important and worthwhile. I'm delighted to serve as honorary chair for National KidsDay. I hope it becomes one of the greatest days of the summer for the children of America." Laura Bush, National KidsDay Honorary Chairperson

National Kids Day, celebrated on the first Sunday each August, is a day to foster relationships between adults and children. This day is an opportunity to celebrate childhood, to demonstrate a commitment to nurturing children and to prepare them for their future.

The mission of National Kids Day is to educate children and adults, and to build awareness on the importance of spending meaningful time together. The sponsors of this day create local events across the nation to allow parents and caregivers to interact and inspire children, and spend a day together
